Hola Februaryyyyy!

Basicallyyyyy, January has its fair share of ups and downs, but there were definitely more happy times than the sad ones. Everyday, I try to count my blessings. From the moment I open my eyes every morning till I knock out after a tiring day. So that I'll be able to know how fortunate I am, with the people around me.

Right now, I really cannot wait to graduate. The workload in school, with projects and such, is way too overwhelming. I wondered how I could actually survive for almost three years. Just like that time flies without us knowing. Secondary school felt like only a year ago. But in the midst of this journey, I learnt a lot, matured a lot, laughed a lot, cried a lot.........

Thing is, 5 more school days and I'll be done with this life. Cannot wait to see myself in Phuket, Genting, Bangkok, spending time baking, back in Publicis, etc. I just have too many things I wanna do and I'm really excited! :) :) :)

January has been good thus far.

Look at how time flies - we're already in mid Jan. And in just a matter of another week, we welcome the CNY.

22 more school days & I'll be out of this hellhole. But I'll deffy miss the ones who stay true to me. Everyone's fretting about uni talks and such and it makes me really stressed too. Everyone's asking me what are my plans after polytechnic, uni plans, etc... I know my parents are anxious too but it's making me feel very, very stressed.

Nevertheless, I had a pretty pleasant week. ♥

Happy 2012!!!

Here's to an awesome 2012, another year of joyful struggles and whatnot.

There's just this feeling of uncertainty. 29 more school days and I'll be done with my life in a polytechnic. Don't know how I should feel about this. Should I be glad and proud of myself that I have survived such a bitchy and a never-ending competitive environment, or should I be sad that I am growing up way too fast? Secondary school graduation is still fresh in my mind and it didn't seem like it was 3 years ago.

Nonetheless, I am glad that I have friends who stood by me through thick and thin. Having gone through these 3 years of tertiary education shows who my real friends are. It also shows the ugly side of people, really. People being fake (of which some really suck at acting fake), people bootlicking to someone of higher authority to curry favour and in return are biased towards them, which also means unfair treatment, etc. Only those in poly and have been through what I have been through will truly understand. Especially if your course is somewhat like project-based....

AND, I'm also really glad that through it all, I've got someone to catch me when I fall, advise me whenever possible and be my listening ear :')

2012 not only brings about polytechnic graduation but university admission. Marketing it is, but idek which unis I want to apply. Going abroad to study is also one of my options but come to think of it, I'll be alone in a foreign land....and I have to leave everything behind back in Singapore.... You know, how fragile life is, you never know what happens next. I want my loved ones by my side, always. Call me a loser for cocking up with excuses for being overly dependent, but I really cannot bear to leave anyone even if it's for a year. Life as it is, is fragile & unpredictable.

Lastly, 2012 also means that I will no longer be a teen. It scares me. To hit the big 2, brings about more responsibilities - adulthood, work, settling down..... I don't really want to think so much but that's what people in their 20s do, right? And they say, when one hits the big 2, time flies and before you know it, you'll be 30. It really, really scares me. So meanwhile, from now till the 7th of July, I'd really want and love to cherish my last days of being a teen. Thinking back, my teenage years were rather memorable and I'd really love to revive them again if possible. :(

END OF SEMESTER 3.1!

Good riddance.

Would really say I had a tough time this semester. I had a tough time figuring out the types of friends I have, the new groupmates, struggling to meet deadlines after deadline with not only endless assignments, mini tests but also projects. Yep projects are the main culprit. I also had a tough time handling situations whereby tongues wag and rumours spread, tough time facing those that I do not want to face everyday. And most importantly, I had a tough time NOT being myself. I was never this quiet in class. Not that I didn't know or wasn't bold enough to break the ice but there's just this fear in me..... I'd rather have a nice close bunch of friends whom I already have and for that, I am grateful. I think that's just enough to make me contented.

.......but heck, liberation is here. Freedom never tasted this sweet. Probably so because I am so satisfied with the stuff of work I've done this semester? Not hoping for the worse, neither am I expecting for the best but I reckon I won't do as well as I did in Year 2.

It's been a long time & I hardly ever blog. Bet nobody reads this space already. I hardly even read my own blog already, what more others?

Now, let us all embrace this well deserved one-month break before internship starts. So proud of my self-secured place in Publicis. Probably one of the best in the world. Can't wait :)

School holidays have come to an end and today is my first day at school as a Year 3 a.k.a Senior Year. But everything seems so fast........

The long break was rather well spent. Tons of shopping (online to be precise), gorging ourselves with xiao long baos, ice cream indulgence, gatherings, meetups and not to mention the search for my internship. Am very proud to say that I have self secured my internship at Publicis, which means I get to work with my cousin! \m/

Need I not say, everything is just awesomeeeeeeee :)

So....today is my first day at school and my lecture is from 4-6p.m.

I almost forgot my blog existed!!!!

.....not until when I was looking through the pictures in Photobucket. Ha.

The holidays have been going on pretty well so far though my days were planned according to day by day basis or even impromptu meetups. 'Cept for driving lessons which I have to book in advance, duh~

Already into my third week of holidays and most of my days are spent babysitting Perry. Speaking of which, I wanted to find my camera for a trip out to Sentosa but it was damaged! Damnnn. Because of what you ask? My mom saw Perry dragging my bag out into the living room, then PERRY DUG MY BAG, TOOK OUT MY CAMERA AND SWUNG IT TO AND FRO, AGAIN AND AGAIN. By the time my mom stopped Perry, it was too late. RIP my dear camera :(

Thing is, I'm not at all mad. How can I EVER be mad at this cute little thing? Huh!!!

So the highlight of the week was spending time at Sentosa! Time really flies when I'm at Sentosa. This time with another bunch of awesome company I must say. The sunny weather too, couldn't get any better despite the weather forecast mentioned showers with thunder :)

Exactly a week ago, we the family brought Perry to Marina Bay Sands for a walk.

He was, and is still, a star ★

K honestly I've got nothing to update because I am going through the most mundane part of a polytechnic student's life. Mugging for the Final Paper. As far as I've recalled, I haven't been studying for any Final Papers since.....a year ago? I mean, aside from End Semester tests which only takes up a puny percentage of the overall grade. It's fifty freaking percent this time. And all I'm feeling so relaxed right now. I am a sucker. I have no discipline. I am a bad kid :(

Maybe the highlight of the week is that I have applied for my Provisional Driving License and started my first driving lesson. Yes, manual. The car stalled several times. Was taught to overtake trucks/vans/lorries. Accelerated too fast and braked too sudden, I could see the fear in my instructor's eyes. Poor guy.
Second highlight of the week was that I get to see my group mates, combined with two students from the other class, to present our project to the CEO, Directors, Marketing Manager and team of RISIS. Proud of everyone, proud of my project! And this is when I cannot help but to thank everyone in my group for today's achievement.

K that aside, gonna bury my head in that.....stack of notes!

Goodbye school, Goodbye Year Two.

Honestly I have mixed feeling about this because I'm happy I went through all that shit and am still standing strong but it saddens me because I know I'm one step closer to the corporate world. I'd rather be a student all my life despite the never ending angsty rants I may spurt in a moment of crankiness caused by both mental, physical stress and the lack of sleep.

I also think I had the best classmates too because I never had once a class so rowdy (in a good/fun) way and studious. Best of both worlds, I say. We even spent Valentine's evening sitting for an end semester test and a briefing on Internet Marketing thereafter. :/

But all I can think now is nothing but to have fun because this (study) break is darn well deserved to each and every one of us. Two papers down already and one more to go two weeks later.

Today was the last day of school and I only went to school for a mere 10 minutes for my interview role-play. My day was pretty much simple, and was of much harmless fun. HK desserts + Taiwan snacks + beancurd and shopping with the Brisbane roomie a.k.a Joce.

Fun awaits me!!!

But this holiday won't be much of an all-play vacation because I've got so many things to do. I should really get a part time job this vacation so I can pay for my own driving lessons. I know I've been quite a burden to my parents so I guess it's time for someone who is turning 19 to get a job during the holidays! And honestly I don't know how it works because I have never worked before. Yes go ahead and laugh at me for being a good-for-nothing.... -.-

And it's high time for me to go find a company for my upcoming internship too.

I'm done with both of my end semester tests already and that leaves me feeling more relaxed. However we're all still busy with our new campaign for Internet Marketing. It's so complicated it's driving us crazy. Worst thing is that it's self directed learning and we're doing this all alone with our tutors baffled so we only have ourselves to depend on :"(

My Sunday was spent at Sentosa refereeing for Surf & Sweat and it's quite an eye opener really. I knew it was going to be hard and sure it was! It's my first time being a referee and I reckon I will not do this again.

Alright back to monitoring the stats. I'm starting to hate you, Google. Please be nice to my groupmates & I.

It's Sunday night and I'm really dreading tomorrow to come...

Day after day I lie awake feeling so unrefreshed despite the ample rest from the previous night and I really wonder why. This week, although a little more relaxed because all presentations are over (that is if I were to include tomorrow's Advertising & Promotion presentation), there is a lot of revision to catch up on because the upcoming A&P end semester test. Worst thing is that I don't even know if I have the time to revise because me being me, I chose hobby over studies. Sigh I really don't know what was I thinking. I know it's definitely a wrong choice to be a referee for some beach volleyball games this coming Sunday but I know this opportunity don't come often. Then again, it's always studies>hobby most of the time. Moreover my end semester test happens to be on the next day of my beach activity.

Now that I've chose to take this step, I hope I can manage my time well this week and I'm crossing my fingers I won't get roasted/burnt/whatever. And when Monday comes, I hope I'll have enough energy to last me through the entire day.

Yesterday was the 29th but this 29th was miserable. I couldn't even make it for the stayover cum movie marathon with the girls like how I would usually spend my other 29ths with them fooling around and catching up.

I haven't been meeting my clique since last month, and my other secondary school friends, I could hardly ever remember how are they like anymore because it's been ages since I met em.

Lately I do not even have the time for my friends because it's either I have been cooping myself at home, or in school drowning myself in stress on those never-ending projects. It's not like I'm overly stress but it's just the norm for everybody I guess. Everybody gets a little more stressed/tensed up during the submission period. I even hardly spend time with my parents anymore.

And, the most stressful period has yet to come. I'm dreading Monday because i)my first end-semester paper begins, ii)one of the proj submission is on the next day iii)the start of a new project/campaign.

Amidst the gloomy moments, I do constantly remind myself that the results will be rewarding.

I'm really hoping to spend some quality time with my friends after this semester, really....

Life hasn't been a bed of roses for the past few weeks as compare to the first few weeks of this semester. Or should I say, it was far worse than the previous semester? True that, we had more time to ourselves mainly because most of my group mates including myself, completed our third and last Cross Disciplinary Subject during the October Vacation, which left us more time to play.

But.... I think I took it for granted. Made use of every possible break to do the most unproductive stuff ever, weekends were a blast.... Reality only set upon me (or us) that deadlines were nearing and we start panicking. Met up with major hiccups/obstacles/conflicts along the way and such.

I thought everyone was in fault, and that includes me. Faults as in misunderstandings & miscommunication (please don't read too much into "faults") and we didn't clear the air...right?

And yup I think I myself read too much into the most intricate details.

Apart from that, like what others have said, I stress myself up too easily. Too Easily. Such that I got so upset and looked at the imperfections of others that I lost myself. I was on my way to school one morning and I thought to myself that I should have been thankful through it all. I should have been grateful for the people who have been around me. I should have a little trust and not take things in my own stride although sometimes I have no idea I was so cocky (it was definitely, unintentional) when it came to serious stuff. I should have been thankful for every individual. Only then did I realize I got the best people but I have yet to appreciate it.

I just thought I lost myself......and I'm sorry for that.

I'd be lying if I said that I'm having a time of my life right now.

That is if unless I were to say it in my most sarcastic tone, ever...

Sometimes I don't ever wanna grow up. Most of the time, that is. I don't actually know how will I be able to cope when I push myself to another high level of education each academic year, or when I go out and start working because life right now, is already as stressful as it is. Wouldn't say the stress level made me miserable or to lose my sanity but rather, really weary from the inside out. And upside down. Every morning, whether I get to sleep for 3 hours or 8 hours, I wake up feeling stoned and not refreshed like how I used to.

Projects, schoolwork and such have been taking a toll on me for the past few days. Am definitely doing my best in whatever I can already. So much so that I am even thinking what I should do for my internship.

Sigh I hope what lies ahead of me will be a field of fresh green pastures filled with pretty flowers at the side. Just lying on the ground watching the skies would make me a very contented girl. I just need resttttttttttt......

TGIF!!!!

I'd say first week of the third school term went pretty well because I did not stress myself up. It's a good and bad thing. Good cos I tend to stress myself and breaking away from stress just feels sooooo gooooood but bad cos it is obviously the wrong time to take a break cos the workload is starting the pile up.

Anyway, I am glad that I got to spend time with the people I treasure this past week. Spent time with my cousins from the housewarming party cum Junya's 2nd, to the shopping trips with the classmates and spending time with Mummy. And not to forget my Spasticsssss.

It'd be week two of the third term soon and I hope I'll start to pull my socks up already....!

I don't get how people to get to buy such big houses!!!! I really envy my cousin hahaha I wanna be a tai tai too. How would you feel to step into a house with a private pool with a sexy Porsche parked beside it, an interior design so modern with a life sized horse, bedroom probably the size of my entire living + dining room, and an attic so cosy to entertain guests. Even little Junya has his own toilet and build in bath tub. I liked that red spiral fireman staircase in the master bedroom which led to the attic too. I'd be happy just to dream about staying in such a house.

At least I am really contented with what I have now. Counting my blessings cause I am living in comfort too :)

Happy New Year y'all!!!!!

Spent NYE at Marina Bay Sands cos my relatives got a room, and saw the psychedelic display of fireworks which was so, so pretty.

And on New Year's Day, I spent my time being sick :"( Worse part is, I am not the only sick being in the house. Mom too, is sick. And so is my dear Perry.

And I think my family spoils the lil rascal till no end, so much that i) dad & bro haven't been sleeping in their rooms for nights cos they want to sleep with Perry, ii) my mom insists that he must be covered in a blanket (she bought a new face towel for him), iii) my parents sing him lullabies and iv) they cannot bear to punish him so I'm the bad guy by beating and scolding him

31st December, New Year's Eve.

I don't know how to feel about the year ending, or rather, a starting of a new year. My mind is in a whirl and actually the mixed feelings in me is getting me pretty....confused.

I am not anywhere near excited to welcome 2011 with wide open arms because I thought this year was one of the best in my life. Travelled quite a bit amidst the hectic lifestyle. Hong Kong with Mummy for shopping, Bali with the family, Australia with the Marketing people. Bangkok trip earlier this March with my cousins, was unfortunately cancelled due to the damn riots. Got a puppy.

Nothing bad, bad (like deaths in the family) really happened, made an awesome bunch of new friends & classmates, and lost some unfortunately.

One of them was due to a misunderstanding. Somehow I stupidly trusted one of my classmate in the freshmen year & I confided literally, everything regarding that matter but before I know what I said was leaked, another classmate came finding me and got the facts wrong. So which means either the person I told gave the wrong information and twisted the story or the guy misunderstood what I said. Anyhow I don't even think that guy ever reads my blog anymore. I've been wanting to clear this misunderstanding but dude, I never thought you'll take it so hard. And if, you're reading this, I didn't mean to hurt you & I think I myself was misunderstood.

Wellllllll, I really do treasure my friendship with every one of my friends even thought I hurt them unknowingly or even when they hurt me, intentionally or not.

But thank God I've got my bunch of best friends I can always rely on. Forever and always!

New year new beginning, that's just the mindset of many but honestly I don't think it'd make a difference anyway when the clock strikes 12, nor will we have a magical feeling with Tinkerbell sprinkling gold powder on us or whatsoever - you get my point.

Truthfully and honestly I dare say I am surprised and glad that I have made it this far already.

And this year I think I've changed quite a fair bit.

Like what one of my used-to-be close friend once told me, "In life, change is the only constant." True that, she changed too and chose to be with her new friends' side instead so.....

I guess change, IS really the constant. Gone were the days we used to not dwell in deeper thoughts and have fun.

The change in me be it in a better way or for the worse is not for anyone else to say but for the ones I cherish to decide. I think there are both the good and the bad side too.

2011 is at the door and I am constantly reminding myself, life is short, forgive quickly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret things that made me smile. I guess that is all I can do to welcome the new year :)

Christmas was awesome. Like every other 25th December, we would all gather together at Deanna's place for a Christmas dinner followed by gift exchange & lots of talking. But this year, few of us weren't present for the gathering so that makes it less quiet. Wished everyone was present...

Also for my paternal's side, all of us relatives would gather together on Christmas Day but this year it was an exception and we celebrated on Boxing Day instead. Came back with a bagful of gifts & that is why I love Christmas!!! :)

Christmas Eve 2010 will be one of the most memorable day of my life.

Today, I brought back my little precious from the pet farm. A lovely Christmas gift from my parents :') I wouldn't say my life will change 'cause it sounds so exaggerated, but I would say it will definitely make me a more responsible person because now I am responsible for every of Perry's needs :)

And one of them requires me to COOK for him. Yes you saw it, COOK. And not those preserved canned dog food which is not very good for my pup.

Well I think this break is darn right well deserved, at least for me. I mugged, mugged and mugged, that I forgot to have my meals, forgot it was bedtime, forgot everything so much that I had a very foul temper which I threw upon the ones I love. I'm sorry :(

BUT ANYWAY! I don't really care if I screwed up my Mid Sems. It's not that I didn't put in any effort or take the paper for nuts, but there are a 1001 careless mistakes I've made. Nevertheless, I have never felt so accomplished and was overwhelmed by joy because I did my best and had no regrets :) :) :)

So I got back my life. Late night Friday, snuggling under the covers the next morning, lazed the entire day, played with my pup. This is life, but short-lived :( Cauz this term break is only 2 weeks long (short). Reckon I'll have much fun cos there's just so many things to do...... EXCEPT FOR XMAS WHICH IS JUST A WEEK AWAY!!!!!!!

K anyway my classmates celebrated Jocelyn's 19th at Zirca last night and there were other marketers from the other classes too! Awesome fun! ^^

Went to get my nails painted & I'm lovin' it! This shade of red is special and it suits the festive season! Hehehe

Today is the last official lecture of the school term, and tomorrow will be the last tutorial of the school term as well. How time flies!! My homies cleared their A levels, and I cannot imagine myself in Year 3 soon when I can hardly remember what I did throughout this period of time. I still feel like I'm a freshman in school, seriously!!!

But nevertheless it is almost mid December, and I cannot wait for Christmas!!! And I'll have to clear my Mid Semester Tests first before I can get to enjoy my mini break. I reckon I won't get much rest out of this break because it isn't really a time to let down my hair totally.

I know I've said this quite a number of times since Tuesday evening, BUT I'M GETTING A PUPPY THIS CHRISTMAS!!! And that little precious would make the BEST X'mas present, ever. Love you Dad, love you Mom!!! I'm collecting her this Saturday morning and I really cannot wait! The excitement is killing :) :) :)

Pardon us. We were a little cranky after one long day at school and met up to do our individual journal after. That explains why we looked like mad girls but anyway! I have never regret knowing her since the start of Semester 1.2, from being my Public Speaking partner in class which we only get to meet once a week to being closer friends in the same course and hanging out whenever we are free. Really hoping to have her as my classmate in year 3! Xxxx my fingers.

School has been a bore lately. Not kiddin'! Especially this week, all of us had to study for a test which required me to write a letter, edit an email, etc. Letter writing reminded me of my secondary school days & they used to be my forte. Idk if it's just me good at writing letters, or is my bullshitting skills good enough to make it please the unpleased. I think it is the latter tho :/

And I can finally say T.G.I.F with the widest grin I can ever give because right now, nothing beats watching Chuck season 3. I know I'm slow like that but I have never touched any of these shows ever since school started.

All's good but lately, I've been going to town for the wrong reasons. Wrong as in, people would be seen shopping over there but I've been doing my schoolwork. What better day to go on a Sunday, a rest day for one and all, and on Hari Raya Haji, a public holiday. Oh well.

Time is of essence but I guess it isn't on my side. Wished I had 48 hours a day or something.

Nevertheless, how can I ever forget to spend time with my friends?

Finally played volleyball with my Pingping. It has been long, definitely!!!! Can't wait to go back to our primary school to play just so to boost our ego cauz the nets are so much lower ^^

But anyway this was taken last Nov. Somehow, I just found a picture of the both of us.

And not to forget, Reyball's 18th! And oh, it was definitely awesome! Reyna's mom made reservations and bought us bottles of drinks and shots. Her family was there too and all of us had much fun together :)

Third week of school will end in a day's time, and we are all pressed for time already, for our individual assignments and group projects. I really think I don't have much time to waste anymore and sometimes, I really can't help but to feel anxious, waking up in the middle of the night of project haunting me. Yes I did not mention this to anyone just as yet because it sounds so exaggerating, to even have nightmares about project and waking up in the midst of my beauty sleep. But it's true......

Today my parter Pam and I went down to Orchard, mall hopped all the way to Somerset for my group's fieldwork. Afterwhich, to Marina Bay Sands. Mystery shoppers and Commercial Spy Inspectors (CSI) sound really cool, but when it comes to the real thing, I think it is physically and mentally torturous. It is definitely too tiring a job for me! And in some shops, we, my groupmates and I, felt as if we were despised because we look too young for these luxury goods. But we weren't there to buy what, right?! And it is not as if I am entering into Cartier or Chanel whereby they really judge they way we dress, I all entered were just a more classy gift shops! I was quite dressed up what, but they...... Anyhow, they just suck. Shan't name any of these shops tho!

Anyway for the past week, I have been crashing Fel's and Kim's apartment at the school's hostel with Bunny Low. It was fun!!! The KOI party we had with the rest of the girls too, and stuff like that. Wish school was always this fun, minus the stress part, of course.

I look kinda old, and crossed eye here but anyway that's not the point why this picture is here. I like my hair! Suddenly so long :)

I caught Voyage De La Vie at Resorts World Sentosa yesterday and it was rather gooooood, everybody should go watch it especially the finalist of S'pore Idol who was the lead actor of the play and he shaved one side of his hair. So.smokin.hot & guys should just do that, seriously!

I am into my second week of school and I'm pretty drained now despite the early nights and sufficient sleep. I get so tired easily I don't even want to eat but parents being parents, they like to stuff me with food so I eat, then sleep which is probably doing more harm than good.

But anyway, school's treating me pretty well.....or rather, my classmates and friends I bump into! Though there might be some awkward instances at times but it's all good, I suppose?

Projects/assignments/tutorials/journals are being thrown to us right already and I hope I'll be able to cope with all......!

But for now, a breather would do good :)

Today's my grandpa's second death anniversary. His name is Paul Woo. Today is also the death of Paul the Octopus. Lol what coincidence.

Putting that aside, today is also one of my bestest cousin's 20th!!!!! Happy birthday Fatz Woo you know I ♥ you! Cheers to growing up & doing stupid things together!!!

Last week, I fell sick. Really sick & I was again, without my parents because I was in the school hostel. Too weak, lazy and tired to walk to the clinic and I procrastinated for a day until Pam came over to visit me. But all's good now, I'm well. My roomie and I got so much closer so much so we went to town with my two other apartment mates, Gabrielle and Elizabeth to town, got our nails painted, did a spray on tattoo, went to her beautiful home, etc....

But anyway I'm so happy this is over. Back to my home, back to my cozy little corner, back to the life with more freedom without curfews......so many more things I could say.

Did I mention we keep calling for delivery during the hostel stay! It was awesomeeee. Mcdelivery, Pizza hut, Pasta mania........Shepards pie... I think the shepards pie is awesome, gonna order it again!

HAHA and mahjong! Played it for three nights in a row, thanks to my roomie who went home to take this!

Saturday was spent celebrating my god grandpa's birthday at an authentic peranakan restaurant. Love the food! Someone bring me there again please? I think it's somewhere at Frankel Ave....

Went home to take a short catnap and off I went to celebrate Belinda's 18th!

Went to butterfact cauz we had a guest list, and club hopped to Rebel/Zirca right after cos the event there was......idk, boring?

Anyway, today is my first day of school. Pretty awesome so far, and......this semester is gonna be very unpredictable. I don't know where we are all heading to but all I know is that I want good grades. I want another, or rather more, client presentations so that my record will look a tad better. Let's go A team! And not forgetting, to have fun with my awesome classmates too :) ♥

Hostel stay is pretty fun, but the expenses are way.too.high. Imagine living without my parents for a week, apart from chalets/stayover/overseas school trips, is actually quite a chore because nobody washes clothes/sweep & mop the floor/cook for me! And the reason I said why expenses are high because my group and I had to do grocery shopping. Was entirely L.O.S.T in the supermart because for the first time I had to find dishwashing soap, detergent & paraphernalia. And other expenses include settling 3 meals a day on my own and other stuff.

I could never ask for better apartment mates, I am contented just the way it is. We just clicked the moment all of us talk and it feels nice :)

Headed to Ikea to feast because it's been long since we had sometime nice to eat, and we went to Giant to get face paint just so we could draw and colour on our faces. Oh yes and my roomie suggested face threading so we went to try it out too. Quite an impromptu decision and it was painful! We still bought masks after we got our face threaded that evening!

Crashed one of my apartment mate's friend's place to do some baking for our international buffet. My group and I had to whip up some Australian cuisine so we baked lamingtons! Had that when I was in Brisbane slightly more than a month back. Looked like those malay kueh but it was definitely authentic Australian food. We are good bakers :)

Today is my first official day of school.

No doubt I am still having my vacation, my heart tells me to take up this Cross Disciplinary Subject during the last two weeks of vacation so that I'll be a little bit more free next semester. More free time = more time to play + sleep + study. I'd gladly suffer this two weeks and make myself a freer being after :)

But I wouldn't say I am suffering. All's good, the hostel is pretty much spacious, with parquet flooring rooms which kinda resemble the ones at home. Sweet! I won't be homesick for sure. By the way, I'm so proud of me for mopping the floor! I never had so much initiative in my entire life because the floor was too dusty and I couldn't stand it... Right now in the master bedroom, while stoning and waiting for my hair to dry, AND, waiting for some inspiration to type out my reflective journal which will be due tomorrow morning, I decided to pop by...

I was at home one afternoon and I decided to do some simple packing. While packing, I found the most practical, interesting and cutest wedding gift I've received among all the other weddings I have attended. So these are very meaningful measuring spoons!

A pinch of joy, a dash of tenderness, a spoonful of affection and a heap of love.
Maybe that's all I need for now to see that bit of change in me.....

Yesterday was a epic day spent with my classmates. Had lunch @ Swensens with Pamela and Jocelyn!

and we caught The Other Guys, which was really funny!!!!

Then I went out for dinner with my parents again, got home and received a call and asked if I wanted to hang out cos my secondary school classmate Joel just got his driving license less than 48 hours ago. Why not right!!!! How often do I have friends my age that can drive.....? Actually, none. He's the first I know to get the license! That is a plus point for the January babies. Cafe Cartel for supper and he drove us round.

Went to Jiajun's place, did all the funny little crazy things and headed for another session of supper. And I got home at 3ish?

Can't wait to spend time with them again :)

Change is inevitable.

Lately I have been pondering why am I so angsty/hot tempered/more straightforward these days. Hmm well I do not really need people to point out to me for me to realize that I've changed drastically. Not appearance, duh, I meant character & personality wise. Actually I have long ago felt that I changed already, but that period of time, was the busiest period of my life rushing through deadlines after deadlines, tests after tests and assignments after assignments. Now that I have been spending me-time lately, I begin to reflect and think how much I have changed. Quite a lot actually, and this is actually bothering me. I have changed so much, I cannot actually remember how timid and passive I used to be.

I blamed the projects, my tests, my assignments, the late nights, the people around me that pissed me off constantly till no end and many other things for the change in me. Till now, as much as I would like to blame the things around me, I actually have myself to blame too. I think I have been too caught up with all the things around me....that I actually neglected how I feel, by bottling up everything and exploding all at once like an erupted volcano, which so far, has yet to be tamed.

I finally decided to put my blog up on my twitter because I think there is no point hiding? I mean, I don't like the attention. The more I hide, the more people want to know. This blog was actually set up like urm, six years ago to update my friends bout my life and thoughts but it ended up..... :S

That being said, I also need my space. For the umpteenth time, I do not like people to tell me "Oh hey, 'shit' is a bad word, don't you dare say it." or "You went clubbing, you've changed." I probably did the former because sometimes, I just blurt out without much thought when I'm angry (who doesn't?) and for the latter, clubbing, I was doing it in the name of fun... I am so not a hardcore clubber getting wasted 100% of the time. In fact, I've been protecting my friends, and going home SOBER because I know my limits. And just so you know, socializing is of paramount importance, and it plays a big part in our poly lives and it is definitely of no harm hanging out with my friends. In fact, I am blessed to have my Year 2 classmates and they are really a nice bunch of people I know.

I'm still Mummy's and Daddy's girl. I don't go against them, I don't do drugs, I don't smoke, I don't loiter around and come back in the wee hours of the morning every day, I don't argue back, I don't.......I could probably name a thousand other things to prove it.

Back to the point, that being said, I need my space. I doubt I can type how I feel about certain things openly anymore, let alone my livejournal. All I need is my close friends namely the Spaz Girls and Venus; my channel to pour out my frustrations, my anger, my sadness, joy, everything, knowing that my thoughts will be safe with them.

The people who have been hanging with me every now and then and who are close to me definitely have the rights to tell me I have changed, if I did, which I actually did. But for the people who have probably last seen or talked to me light years ago have no say, really. I don't like to be judged like that by my pictures and stuffs. Tell me, who likes to be judged? Let's just say.....you're attending a birthday party and you're taking some photos with your friends and it happens that you forgot to turn the camera's flash off so when it flashes you looked like half your eyes are closed in the picture. So can I conclude you're really wasted, which is comparable to a drunkard puking like a merlion?! Sometimes it's just pure misinterpretation, so before you actually come to a point whereby you have to judge me, please do clarify first. By the way, that was just an analogy.

Semester 2.1 have made me realize how I can be like when I am forced to be in certain situations by stretching and testing my limits such that I begin to personify someone I never thought I will be.

Change is inevitable. I am sure I will still be changing, and I'm really determined to change back to the old me. I'd rather be soft spoken and meticulous than to speak harshly without thinking which makes people think I have changed, and hurting them unknowingly. With all the determination and discipline, time will tell if I have change for the better :)

We all know that Mrs Lee Kwan Yew passed away just a couple of hours ago. Frankly speaking, I did not understand and did not know how was it like to have someone dear to you departing from this world until my grandpa passed away some two years back. It is October already and speaking of which, his second death anniversary is approaching... This morning when I was doing some simple packing in the living room, I looked through some of the photos grandpa and I took together when I was much younger and I always know he liked carrying me around :')

Coming back to the topic, I think it's a very painful experience to lose someone close to you and I hope the Lee family is coping well!!!

Now putting that aside......,

Bali Trip - 20th-24th September 2010

It was definitely fun travelling with my parents and I would love to go with my friends the next time I go there! It is good to have short getaways once in a while because I'm so bored of staying in this little red dot.

Did not do much on the first day when we reached Bali because when we reached the resort, it was already nine in the evening, so we just explored the resort and the area outside it.

We paid to hire a tour guide just for a day, to bring us to the tourist attractions in Bali. We also got to travel around Ubud, and up north to see the places we were gonna visit.

We visited the batik factory to see how the intricate prints were carefully made, jewelery factory outlet to see how they were being made, visited the elephant temple. We were made to wear sarongs or else we will not be able to enter their temples.

Had lunch at another tourist attraction. Swear the lunch ripped us off and worse still, the food there is horrible. But the best part of it was that we had a scenic view of a volcano, and we were so high up! Pretty cooling up there, and it felt like Genting.

Proceeded to Spring water temple. This is where all the royalties in Indonesia come here once a year to have their bath because they believe that the water will cleanse their souls.

I wonder how do those ladies do it. They don't seem to have a flat head...

Moving on, the tour guide brought us to see the rice terraces which were really pretty

And the last destination for the day, the Monkey Forest, which was located somewhere in the town area in Bali. The bunch of bananas I bought....was more pricey than the entry tickets to the Monkey Forest -.- Because I was walking around holding a bunch of bananas in my hands, THE MONKEYS FREAKING ATTACKED ME. They just ran to me and snatched the bananas :( But it was definitely cute looking at them eating!

First and foremost, I would like to wish all of you Happy Children's day! Surely there's still a kid in us right and we should still celebrate it like we are still one. It's good to be young sometimes :)

Bali trip post? Sorry I'm kinda lazy to update this space I think I ought to update my 28 and 29th first because the Bali post will take quite some time...

On the 28th, my group and I headed to Pilot Pen Company with almost all our marketing lecturers. Frankly speaking, I'm really pleased with my group projects and grades and I am confident we could have done so much better.... I'd leave the reason left unsaid unless when asked, and I'm not obliged to tell :)

It was one hell of a good experience but I was shaaaaking so terribly because we had to present to the General Manager + his assistant + 7 lecturers and 2 other groups. I have never presented to a bunch of adults before and it was pretty nerve wrecking. But anyhow, I felt so.darn.relieved after I have presented my part and am glad that the GM liked our idea!

29th, which was just two days ago, went pretty well. This time, it was my turn to organize the outing but before I met the old chummies, I met Pamela and Jocelyn at Vivo to walk around before they catch their movie at two while I wait for the girls BUT we headed to Resorts World for a walk... It was such an impromptu decision and I really had no regrets going there even if it was just for an hour. Yeah I was only there for an hour..... I would love to go back to explore more of Sentosa other than the beach station -.-

Yeh you got it right, it's four in the morning and I am still wide awake... Just came back from Bali slightly less than two hours ago and I did not catch a wink on my way back cuz I was watching a movie on board. Did I mention that Middle East airlines are the best?

This was before my Bali trip! Granny organized a family lunch gathering at a relatively renowned Canto restaurant to celebrate i) Mid Autumn Festival in advance, ii) granny's and grandpa's 60th wedding anniversary (if grandpa was still around, it'd be so much better...) and lastly iii) to celebrate 4 of her grandchildren's birthday in September.

Day 4, 5 and 6 in Gold Coast, Brisbane.

Day 4 was actually the most interesting day! A visit to Dreamworld! I did not see any major changes since the last time I've been there but some rides were closed because they were trying to modify it. Perhaps the only thing I did not do in Brisbane the previous time I was to attend a talk and see how Dreamworld operates as a company. As for the rides..... they're wicked! Wicked but fun! Did not sit the giant drop because the queue was mad long and since I took it before, I spent my time queuing for rides I did not sit before because I was too timid or too short for the ride when I was 10 :/

DAY 5

We visited Point Danger, which seperates 2 different states of Australia, which is Sydney and Queensland. Hmm so I was kinda like in New South Wales, Sydney for a while.. That's where my aunty and cousins stay!!! We also visited the tropical fruit farm, went to the Currumbin wildlife park and Superbee factory to see how bees produce honey

DAY 5

This was kinda like our last day, and we woke up at 5 a.m. to catch the sunrise at the beach. It's really beautiful over there

It was mad cold but I did not bring any pullover or whatsoever unlike my friends who did... Actually throughout this trip I thought I was rather thick skin, as in, literally, because to begin with, I'm not even afraid of the cold. But that morning, it was really freezing. Did not wear any outer coat cos I thought I would be playing with the waters -.-

When we reached the Brisbane airport, it was around 2 in the morning over there, and being restless, we had to roam around the streets at 3 because we were enjoying the chilly wind outside...

DAY 2

Visited Mt Coot-tha, and caught a glimpse of the scenic view of Brisbane, which was, definitely, very breathtaking.

After that, we were to another place by the river, really pretty over there!

Visited their mini Chinatown. Really a very mini one. The Chinese food there is errrr, not very nice.

And then a visit to University of Queensland for to listen to a talk! After the talk, we went to this really huge green field and sat on it. Dope I tell you. It is soooo wonderful there. Sat there and hear what our Marketing seniors who are studying they had to say.

DAY 3

Went to visit the Queensland University of Technology and attend a few talks, and followed by a talk by a fellow Singaporean who went there to study.

Both universities offer 3 years course for business and business students like me are entitled to 1.5 years exemption, so that makes it only 1.5 years to get my degree! But I don't think I can survive without my family.....

After visiting QUT, we took a 25 minute walk to Queens Street, and went to a relatively famous advertising agency called Clemenger BBDO. The talk is the most interesting talk throughout the entire trip! Learnt a lot of things.

Hi guys, just a short post before I leave for Brisbane. It is one in the morning right now and I am kinda excited! Exited = can forget about sleeping!!!!! Am really worried about the weather change now cauz it is kinda erratic at the moment and it fluctuates, ANYTIME! It has been long since I been to Australia, say eight years ago? I have actually been to all the places I will be going on this trip but my lecturers assured me that it would be a whole new (blah blah blah inserts best excuses) experience. Hopefully I will really learn something from this trip, at least something educational please???

So yup I assure all my friends who read my blog that I will be back in one piece and NOTHING WILD WILL HAPPEN COS I AM AND WILL BE A GOOD GIRL. Amen.

It's amazing how time flies. Just within these 12 days, the Youth Olympic Games are overrrrr. In April I was asked if I wanted to help out in the volleyball games, I agreed without hesitation but when the dates were nearing, I was cursing how much sacrifices I had to make. But I guess after this experience, I have nothing to say but can only agree it was all worthwhile :)

Since I got the schedule for the volleyball games in July, I already predicted the teams that would make it to the finals and yeaaaaaah indeed I was quite spot on.

And since I am a die hard fan of Cuba, I made sure I had to serve Cuba that morning. Die also must!!!!!!! Which I managed to do so eventually hehehe ^^

My efforts did not go to waste at all. I was expecting nothing from the team perhaps except taking pictures with them but not only did I get to do that! Most of the players pat my head and gave me a hug (but wtf they had to bend 90 degrees to hug), and even the coach toooooo!! Hahahaha but the captain is the sweetest ;)

After the finals was a date out to town with Amelia!!! Hehehehe we were supposed to go tanning that day but I was on duty for the YOG volleyball finals. But nevertheless, we still had fun! She even made a Bon Voyage card for meeeeeee. It really surprises me how well we click together. From just a CDS classmate which we only get to see each other two hours once a week each for about eight times, we went swimming together, been to her place and chatted non-stop, ice cream dates and even out to town. I dare say that I am so much closer to her than my classmates in Year 1 which I thought I'd be closer to, because I spend more time with them. Lovin' the close knitted friendship with mah babe♥♥♥

Kay by right I should be busy packing my junk into the hugeass luggage but I have some pictures with meeeeee!!! So busy for the past few days, with my ice cream date at ice cream chefs with Ameliaaaaa, Fiona's (surprise) birthday 3D2N chalet, and helping out in volleyball for the YOG. That is why I previously mentioned I reckon I will not really be at home most of the time this holiday. Next up is Brisbane and I am flying off in say 6 days' time? And meanwhile I am helping out as a volunteer at the Toa Payoh Sports Hall. Really interesting matches they have! I cannot help feeling puny most of the time 'cause I am only maybe a head above most of the volleyball players' belly buttons........! Yah I know this sounds reaaaally craazy and YES they are that tall.

And I am done with day two at the sports hall. My job is to guide the players where to go and pack food into their changing rooms. But I kinda got the chance to interact with them although we have some communication barriers. They are kinda fun to be with!!! Really wanted to take pictures with the players especially Leon Wilfredo the awesome world class player but everyone is always busy.

NEVERTHELESS I actually got a picture taken with Gonzalo Lapera of Argentina, I think? ^^

Went to the flea at Powerhouse today with Deanna and Fiona, no pictures sorry! Saw and bumped into many familiar faces. I think I saw quite a number of my course mates toooooooo. But anyway hahahaha I think I was such an asshole to the both of them oopsie ^^

Headed to town to meet my classmates to collect stuff I bought from the spree yaaaayyyyyy~ and off to Sengkang for a nice dinner with my parents. Happy daaaaay!

Loving the way how I'm spending my Friday just staying at home and lazing around. Idk how the hell I actually zonked out at 9 p.m. last night when I woke up at 2 in the afternoon? Hm but I woke up at 6.50 a.m. this morning, with no alarms!!!!! Kinda unbelievable but as much as I would like to sleep in a little more, the thunder and lightning were too intimidating for me to sleep at ease. Too heavy a downpour, too gloomy a day but that did not stop me from joining my dad to send mom to work. Afterwhich we had breakfast at King Albert Park's Macs. Luv that place. Been there since I was a little kid. Memories :)

Anyway, did I mention that I will be going for my Brisbane study trip in say, 10 days time?! Yeah the school informed us really late and we were all kinda reluctant to go, especially for me, I have visited all the places they are gonna go to. But the lecturers were persistent and kept calling me.... And moreover I had to confirm my attendance by that day, when I was still stuck in my class chalet having fun.

I really reckon this holiday, I will be out most of the time, as in literally, not going home. Class chalet just ended, Brisbane with the school, probably Bali with the family and Penang with the girls? And then after that, school holidays will end two weeks earlier for me cuz I took a module which requires me to stay in the school hostel for two weeks. Idk, but for now I know I'm kinda psyched for the Auz trip.

I feel really fortunate. This is random but yeah I really feel like I am a fortunate kid. Early this morning when Dad and I sent Mom to work, I saw foreign workers squeezing at the back of the lorries, trying to find anything just to seek shelter for themselves from the heavy rain, even if it is an umbrella with holes or any piece of pathetic cloth just to cover their head. And I was right in the car yawning away. I swear I saw their really pathetic faces, as in I really feel sad for them. While people are leading such lives trying to work their guts out coming to a foreign land to support their family back in their hometown, Dad, without batting an eyelid, approved of the trip and even encouraged me to go when I was still hesitating cauz the trip is seriously not cheap at all because of the damn SQ and the perfect lodging. Mom said she will pay for all of my expenses.

Just to side track a little, my parents are even willing to pay for my grooming lessons and fees. Yeah I know this is really -.- but because they think I am not that demure or and I ought to do something about it?

I just feel really bad using my parents' money. But if I were to jolly well afford it and pay the trip for myself, I would gladly do so AND I think I really can afford this by myself but my parents cannot bear to see me taking out money from my own pocket, not even when I am treating Dad to a $2.50 meal at Macs this morning. So what more a $2k+ 6D4N trip? With that amount I could get another powerful laptop (yeah I know I just bought my Fujitsu last year but it is really testing my patience. At times I really wanna slam it and shatter it into pieces, seriously), or my dream bag which would last me all my life, or to pay my school fees for a year, or....... there are like a 1001 things I can do with that sum of money.

Although I might not be as expressive in person and I hardly say 'I love you' to my parents, I really do love them.
